My Story

From developer to freelancer: the real timeline.

I've been a software engineer for 8+ years, building Android, React and Node.js apps. Freelancing was something on the side until September 2024, when I started taking Upwork seriously.

The first client was the hardest part. After that, it was learning how clients actually choose who to hire, and getting better at it one proposal at a time.

The numbers here are approximate, and they're mine. They're not a promise of what you'll earn. I'm now documenting the journey and teaching what I learned in a free community.

Yes. Joining the WhatsApp community costs nothing.

Do I need to be a developer?

No. Most of what I share comes from my own work as a software engineer, but the ideas about profiles, proposals, clients and pricing apply to most skills people sell on Upwork.

Will I earn $70K+ too?

There's no guarantee. $70K+ is what I earned, on top of 8+ years as an engineer and a lot of trial and error. I share what worked for me so you can adapt it. Your results depend on your skills, your niche and the effort you put in.

I've never freelanced. Is it too early?

No. Everyone starts with a first client. I got mine in September 2024. The community is a good place to learn how to approach that first step.
